The party never ends

My last post I told you that Lizzie had strep throat...8 days later...we have an ear infection. When it rains it pours. Poor Lizzie went from one illness right into the next one. Cody and I took her back to the dr. yesterday and the left ear is the problem. She was not done with her first antibiotic, so they put her on a new and stronger one. We will see what happens.
I, being stuck at home with a sick baby, have began exploring the world of nurseries all over again. It will be a nuetral one this time around, but still fun to decorate. :)
I will post pics soon...I promise!

Christmas Eve

Today we went to my MeMaw's house and celebrated with my moms side of the family. It was good getting to see every body. Lizzie ran around and made herself so tired that she fell asleep on the couch. Then when we got back to Granny and PawPaw's they had more presents for her to open. She is spoiled rotten! We did not get to take her to see Santa Clause this year because Monday I was a little worried that Lizzie had a sore throat so I took her to the dr. Come to find out, she had strep throat (this is very rare for a one year old to have). As a result, I kept her home Monday and Tuesday which means that poor mistreated Cody will not receive his presents from us until after Christmas and little Lizzie did not get her picture made with Santa. I guess that I learned my lesson!
As Lizzie opens her presents she likes to try them on!
She pays attention to each and every thing that she gets. It is so cute.

Hopefully I will be able to send out Christmas Day pics one day this week. We are headed to El Campo bright and early to celebrate with Cody's moms side of the family, that is, after Santa comes to our house! I can't wait.

Christmas Parties Galore (Dec. 20th)

We celebrated with my dad's side of the family on Sunday and Lizzie got to experience opening multiple presents at one time. She loves to rip the paper, but enjoys the presents in bags much better because after she opens them she carries the bag around like a purse.
Cody got to experience putting it all together at one time with an impatient baby waiting by his side to play. Lizzie got a highchair for her baby dolls and wanted it and her My little Pony out of the box at the same time.
Her little outfit was too cute not to share. She loves this dress. The first time that I put it on her she twirled around like she knew that was what she was supposed to do.

Brown Christmas

Since my little brother, Andrew, was headed to Illinois for Christmas, we celebrated with my parents and him on Dec. 12th. We went to our favorite family restaraunt...Shoguns in Cypress. It is Hibachi style where they cook at the table in front of you. Lizzie loved watching the action and she even made an attempt at the chop sticks, but that didn't work!
I also had an ultrasound that day. The baby is fine, but is breach. I have a head on one side and a butt on the other. It has a specific name when they are sideways, but I don't remember it right now. We have decided not to find out the sex of the baby, for now anyway. Maybe we will change our mind by 32 weeks.

Broccoli and Bed

Lizzie loves to eat broccoli for dinner. I have been telling my mom that she eats broccoli, but had to take pictures to prove it.
Sorry for the underlining...this computer is having technical difficulties it seems.
When Lizzie is done with her dinner she gets a cookie or some Goldfish. This was her telling her daddy that she wanted a cookie. She says 'nana' for banana cookie.
I just thought that I would throw this picture in there. Milk does a body good!
Cody converted Lizzie's bed to a toddler bed on sunday. We know that it is early, but we have to get ready to use this crib for the new baby. I thought a few months in the toddler bed and then it is big bed we go. She loves being able to get in and out of her bed. It has only been 3 nights and she did not get out of it at all last night.
We are very proud of her!
Watch the blog for updates...I have lots of them on the way...

Freebird Friday

Last Friday Cody and I took Lizzie to Freebirds for the first time. She had to have her first real Aggie experience and we even had her in overalls. She loved sitting in a busy restaurant and people watching with her mom and dad. Yes, she even ate the burrito! She loved it of course! She even snuck one of our tortilla chips and took a bite. She knew that she wasn't allowed to have it because she grabbed it, took a quick bite and put it back on her daddy's plate.
We had been shopping before we went to eat and Lizzie was full and ready for bed. She fell asleep on our way home.
Cody and I are doing great. We have an ultrasound on Dec 12 th to see if Lizzie will have a little sister or a little brother. It seems that everyone wants to know and Cody and I don't care either way....well, I think Cody cares. He thinks he needs another boy in the house since he is out numbered. We will see! :)

Dancing Baby

There are moments in our week where Lizzie tries to go turn the radio on. She is a serious dancer. She wants to polka with her daddy and gets mad if I am in the way. When he picks her up to dance she pays attention to what he is doing. She does not let anything interrupt her dancing with her daddy.
Yes, she does stick her tongue out as she dances around the room. All of her focus is on the beat (I know she is only a baby, but this baby knows what beat is).

When she is done, it is back to being silly as normal. There have been times when Cody has put her down and she has cried and even thrown a fit. She really loves to dance...not with me...only with her daddy. Finally all the fun and excitement catches up to this little one and she is tired and worn out...for a little while any way. :) I hope that everyone is enjoying the pics. We have heard great things about our blog and hope that you like it as much as we do.

Halloween with our little ladybug

Lizzie went trick or treating for the first time this year. She was a trooper. At the first house she cried when we took her out of her wagon. She loves her wagon and she just thought that we were going for a walk in a silly outfit. As you can tell by the pictures, she was fine when she realized that she had candy in her basket. We only made it to 5 houses, but that was perfect. We just went to some of the friends houses in the neighborhood and by the time we were done it was already time for dinner and a bath. It really flew by fast.
She loves these silly squeeky shoes. She will stomp in them just so she can hear them squeak. The great thing is that I can change the bows to make them match anything so we had in red to match her costume.
When we got home she had to pull out each piece of candy one by one and put them on the floor. You would have thought that she knew what candy was and that we were actually going to let her eat it. When I finally got the candy put up, she just kept looking in her bag for it. It is now 3 days later and she still looks in the bag for it. It is very cute.
As for Cody and I, we did not dress up for Halloween and we had lights out by 9pm. We are tired parents after nights like that. We apologize to all those that invited us to Halloween parties that we did not attend. We thought that we would just try to hang around the house and have fun with our little ladybug and we don't regret that idea at all. We enjoy her so much.
I am now exactly 12 weeks pregnant and it has been over a week since I have had any morning sickness. I hope that I am not jinxing myself, but we will see.
Cody is still the hero of our house and is doing so much to help Lizzie and I that sometimes I feel like he is completely and hole heartedly doing it all. He is the best husband and father in the world and I love every minute with him.

Pumpkin Patch

The weekend before Halloween I took Lizzie to the pumpkin patch. Cody wasn't able to go with us so Granny, my Aunt and little cousin Brandon went with us. Lizzie was not sure what to think about it all. She was very tired, and she did not want me to leave her side. To get this picture I literally had to sit her down and take off running. I still thought that I would share the pics since I told everyone that I would. Once she settled in she started doing a little better.

Lizzie liked the hay better than anything. I think that it was the wagon that made her feel comfortable. We got two pumpkins to take home with us.
In the last week Lizzie has started doing some funny and cute things. She actually smacks when she gives a kiss and she is saying tons of words. She loves to sing and dance. If the radio is on, she is happy.
I will send out Halloween pics very soon. :)

Big Riedel News

The cat is out of the bag. Lizzie is looking for her new sibling. We are 11weeks pregnant and very excited about having two little ones in the house. Cody and I had an ultrasound today and the little one was kicking around like crazy. We are due in the middle of May and as you can see Lizzie is all smiles about it.
Cody and I have actually known for about 6 weeks now. We were trying, and had taken several negative pregnancy tests and then during IKE we got a positive one. We went to the dr. the next week, but had no idea how far along we were so we wanted to wait to announce it until we had all of the details.
We told our parents when we found out, but some other people have found out that see me every day because I am already showing. I have grown out of all of my pants and yet the dr. told me today that I have lost weight. I can't see how.

Lizzie is growing so fast. She tried to eat jello for the first time last night and Cody and I could do nothing but laugh. She wants to eat everything by her self and pick it up with a fork. She was not having much luck with a fork and jello. It was very cute.

Sorry to all of you that knew that we were trying to get pregnant and yet we kept telling you no we were not. Like I said...we just wanted to get all of the information and make sure that everything was ok before we starting telling the world, but now we are ready to do just that!!!
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to have pumpkin pics soon. :)

Bubbles Bubbles, pop, pop, pop!!!!!

Tonight was a normal night in the Riedel family. Lizzie and I got home a little later than normal because the weather was bad and I didn't feel like driving in it. When we got home I fed little Lizzie and then it was off to the bath we went. Her newest thing is to eat the bubbles. It is by far the funniest thing that Cody and I have seen her do. We only put bubbles in the tub once a week, but how do you keep them from eating the bubbles when it is so darn cute? She puts the bubbles in her cup and puts it up to her face till they will stick.
She will cover her face with them and try to eat them. She completely forgets that we are taking a bath. She has also recently began to stand on one foot so that I can wash the bottom of her feet.
We think that she might know that Christmas is around the corner and is practicing to look like Santa because the bubbles only seem to make it on her chin and chest like a beard.
This is the 'Oh no, I have been caught' face that happened when her daddy came in to check on us.
We are so proud of our little one and she seems to be learning so fast. She just got a Sesame Street book from our neighbor about bubbles and she says the phrase 'bubbles, bubbles, pop, pop, pop'. Her granny said that this week she hasn't stopped talking. She is really trying to repeat anything that comes out of our mouths. Have a good night and I hope that it doesn't rain too much more. :)

Weekend at 'Boerne'

Well, this past weekend we visited Boerne for The Key To The Hills car show where Milton (Lizzie's Grandpaw) had entered his '39 Chevy Coupe into the show. The last time that Cody and I went was before we were engaged. Lizzie had a rough first night in the hotel room, but it worked out in the long run.
Lizzie loved to hear all of the loud cars start up and everyone thought that she was so cute in her wagon. She rode around like a pro.
There were close to 400 cars there and it is neat to get to see some of the car show crew and their rides. We enjoy their company and many stories.
Lizzie got some new shoes while in Boerne. See...all the women go to the Boerne show to shop and Lizzie had fun with that part too. So while she wasn't looking at cars with dad and Grandpaw, she was shopping with mom and Grammie.
I think that this was Lizzie's first time in Grandpaw's '39. I am sure that there will be many more times. Who knows, maybe in 16 years he will let her drive it!
Overall we had a great time but we are very glad to be home!
